After the Rain depicts a moment just after a rain, when the scene has yet to fully dissipate. In the composition, the forms of trees are deliberately reduced to near-outline shapes, while layers of gray-blue and brown create a damp, subdued, and introspective spatial atmosphere. Luo does not focus on rendering specific natural details; instead, through restrained color relationships and repeated layering and rubbing of brushstrokes, the landscape hovers between emergence and disappearance, as if still enveloped by rain and air.
The work does not depict a literal “rain” but rather evokes a state of calm following the passage of time—after a brief disturbance, the world returns to self-regulation and introspection, conveying a quiet yet enduring lyricism.
