YIN Liang
Yin Liang (born in 1989, in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province) had been learning Oil Painting at Central Academy of Fine Arts(CAFA) and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree. He continuously studied Print at CAFA and got a Master’s Degree in 2017. He’s now teaching at Beijing Forestry University.
In this age of information explosion, I am more inclined to appreciate the still moments and mundane things in life, trying to touch the emotions and stories belonging to them. The empty house in memory, the eyes glimpsed in the darkness, the leather boots in the corner faintly capturing the only light in the room – behind these seemingly ordinary things always lies immense energy. They resonate with images and memories, leaving behind moving traces like a ray of light cutting through the dark mist.
Subsequently, in my Landscape series, I treated the spontaneous emotion of objects as clues and put it in a more objective imagery. The raindrop flowing on the glass constantly changes its course and the trees swaying in the storm seem to hide a mysterious order. Does the sensory intensity correspond to inner peace, just like how we always manage to peacefully fall asleep on stormy days? This subject, which nature has given humanity for thousands of years, stirs my thoughts on the order and emotions in the images. I hope to capture the underlying turbulent relationship through delicate depiction, which is a visual poetry and an awakening emotion.
