LIU Liu
Born in Shenyang in 1990, Liu Liu holds a Master’s degree in Printmaking from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing.
Though trained in printmaking, he discovered watercolor as his true medium and has since developed a distinctive and refined technique that sets his work apart. His exquisitely detailed small-scale paintings—often depicting cityscapes, interiors, and vast natural or architectural spaces—reflect a deep sensitivity to light, atmosphere, and philosophical thought. Infused with meditations on beauty, religion, and aesthetics, Liu Liu’s works quietly evoke moments of stillness and awe.
Recently, he has extended his practice to canvas, preserving the visual language of watercolor while exploring texture and illumination in new and nuanced ways.
