Chen Jiao

Chen Jiao, born in 1983 in Chengdu, graduated with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2006 and 2009. She also participated in international artist residency programs in Germany and Wales in 2007 and 2008. Rooted in childhood memories and cultural reflection, her practice is known for its use of mixed media painting, marked by a tactile sensibility and a strong narrative quality. Blending personal experience with cultural symbols, her work visually explores the deep connections between cultural identity and the complexities of growing up.
